Youth Theatre at CTG

The Community Theatre of Greensboro’s Youth Theatre program provides opportunities for youth in our community to perform full scale productions and learn about the processes of theatre performance and production.

CTG’s national recognized Youth Theatre program is at the core of the organization. CTG seeks to introduce new children to the stage, foster a theatre family, and promote a love of theatre for years to come. CTG’s youth programs have worked on premiere shows such as The Lion King Jr. (2015) and newly released Mary Poppins Jr. (2016). Students have been featured on the cover of national musical theatre publications and have gone on to wonderful theatre programs in North Carolina and across the United States.

CTG’s programs are available to children ages 7-18, of all backgrounds, and all skill sets.

CTG also offers educational opportunities for both kids and adults to learn more about performing on the stage. Classes focus on musical theatre, ensemble, and stage presence.

Theatre Camps

The Community Theatre of Greensboro offers a wide array of camps for children during the summer, as well as production camps, which help children ages 7-18 prepare a full scale Junior production for their peers in a two week period which is then presented on the CTG Stage.

CTG also has pop-up camps during spring and winter breaks.

Centerstage

CTG’s award-winning Centerstage Youth Performing Group provides a prestigious opportunity for experienced performers in grades 3-12. Founded in 2006 by CTG Education Director Roz Fulton, these audition-only troupes meet the needs of serious young actors. Once accepted, students will work with professional instructors, concentrating on acting and musical theatre and dance.

Drama Time at TESG

Drama Time offers quality, affordable, and convenient theatrical experiences for students in grades K – 8th. This afterschool program allows students to explore different art activities such as music, creative movement, arts and crafts, acting, improvisation, and more. Our programs are designed to help participants develop socially, emotionally, and of course theatrically!
