GREENSBORO, NC, 05/02/2016- The Community Theatre of Greensboro, affectionately known as CTG, has received a $15,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to support the theatre education and outreach programs of the organization. CTG provides a number of theatre programs for various populations of the community, such as the “Teens Downtown” program, “OnStage and Inclusive”, and “Stages for Learning” with Guilford County Schools. The Teens downtown program is a positive-alternative initiative that makes available social, creative, and educational opportunities for teens in Downtown Greensboro. The “OnStage and Inclusive” program is an inclusive 2-week multi-age summer program. It engages participants of varying abilities and ages to work on self-expression, advocacy and communication skills through expressive theatre arts.
Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. Its grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities’ youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.
