Ages 12 years to 18 years     \nCallbacks:                  TBA \n  \nInformation:              Please come with a prepared song—cell phone or karaoke CD (music only; no one singing on the track.) We will have a CD player on hand if needed.  If you bring music on a phone\, please make sure the phone can be connected via aux cord/Bluetooth.  No monologues are necessary.  Auditionees will learn a short movement combination\, comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. \nCTG believes in non-traditional casting and encourages everyone to come out.  All roles are open! When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town\, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts\, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher\, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren\, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation\, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.  FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people\, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind. You will be asked to perform a cold-reading from the script. \nShow Dates:  October 15th – 24th\, 2021 \nShow Location: Starr Theatre (520 S Elm\, Greensboro NC\, 27406) \nMUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE: Click Here! \nCHARACTER BREAKDOWNS: \nRachel Ann: early 20’s – a young woman who seems to have issues with life and men until bridge night opens her eyes. \nConnie Harland: age 50’s-60’s – Mother of Rachel\, who finds on this fateful bridge night that life doesn’t end in your 50’s. \nLeona: age 50’s-60’s – One of Connie’s closest friends and a member of the bridge club for over 30 years. A woman who’s a beautician by profession and a rather caustic lush by preference. \nMillie: age 50’s-60’s – Another of Connie’s friends and a long-standing member of the bridge club. This is a woman who moves to her own special drummer\, even though she’s the only one who can hear him. \nPoliceman/Bobby: early 20’s – a young man of many talents\, and they all come to “bare” on the ladies’ bridge night.
